Salesforce online forms
More and more Companies are starting to use Salesforce, and what could be better than creating online forms that are integrated with salesforce from the get go? Saving all your money and efforts by not having to manually copy the entered data to your salesforce account.
But what happens when you want to use a multi page form? Is the integration to salesforce still possible? Well, it is not only possible, it is really simple as well.
What is a multi page form?
A long form which is divided into steps, and displays a few fields at a time is known as a multi page form.
why use a multi page form?
Marcus Taylor in “58 Form Design Best Practices & Form UX Examples” says that “Splitting your forms into two or three steps will almost always increase form completion” and entails the three reasons why multi-step forms work so well: “
In addition, a very long single page form can be very intimidating, scaring away visitors, encouraging form abandonment.
Another reason for using a multi page form can derive from the dimensions of the mobile phone screen. Long forms intended to be filled in mobile phones should be divided into pages, so that users don’t have an infinite scroll, or have to deal with a clutter of items.
Neil Patel in his post “The Power of The Nudge: How to Convert Visitors Into Customers” says that “The reason I think a multiple-step checkout process works is because once buyers give you some of their information, they feel already committed and have no trouble completing the rest of the checkout.”
How do you create a multi page form?
1- Enter the form builder.
when you are creating your form it is set by default to a single page form.
2- In the “Elements” panel >”Widgets” category
Drag the page break element onto the form canvas. This will automatically be placed at the bottom of your form. The page break may not be moved with drag & drop, like all the other elements – it has a fixed position at the bottom of the form, but you can control its horizontal location by changing its alignment left / center / right.
3- Now you can start dragging elements onto the canvas (above the page break). They will be included in the first page of the multi page form.
4- Once you need to add the second page – do the following:
Select the “pagebreak” element > go to “Properties” panel > “Element” tab > “Settings” > Basic > and press on “Add” button
5- continue adding elements and pages according to your needs.
6- Take note – there is no need to add a regular submit button, since the page break element includes all the buttons you will need for moving back/forward and submitting the form.
How do you integrate the multi-page form with Salesforce?
Integrating a multi page form with salesforce is identical to integrating it with a single page form.
